ROYLER GOES RED’N’BLACK!!! PARABÈNS MASTER!!!
We decapitate peasants with our hands? Is that like a brown belt technique or something? Sam?
No. We DEFEND OURSELFS. The Samurai didn’t go around the town like “C’mon, let’s decapitate some peasants!”, neither do we.
I don’t want you to think I’m dissing your shirt because I’m not, but they did actually. It was within the rights of a samurai to try out one’s sword by decapitating peasants. Historians debate how widespread that practice was but it’s a matter of record. Life was cheap back then.
True samurai arts have little to do with self defense and lots to do with shooting from horseback. I know rickson looks good in a kimono and all but modern day sport BJJ, or even Gracie self-defense bear little resemblance to koryu.
This, as you may guess is a pet peeve of mine and is a bit of a rant.
No problem, you’re welcome! But you think too short - or misunderstood what I meant! Samurai art (Jiu-Jitsu) IS self-defense - In a broader sense of course (defending their country, emperor, etc. - not any drunken brawl situation, etc. Time and field of application changed but the core is the same (there are even still some similarities if you think about Armed Forces for example), (of course I don’t count any competition stuff to this!).
